Scholarships are available for families who cannot afford this fee. No child will be turned away for lack of the ability to pay the refundable registration fee.
General Info
Some students require more intensive and individualized instruction to learn some skills and material. One-on-one help is proven to be most effective. Extensive research shows that students who worked with tutors substantially improved academic performance and achieved lasting, beneficial outcomes.
Each child is matched with a tutor who will stay with him/her throughout instruction. One-on-one sessions are an hour long to include 50 minutes of tutoring and 5-10 minutes of debrief with parents. They are scheduled by appointment on weekdays after school. Saturday appointments may be scheduled on a case basis.
All tutors are experienced educators in Wayne and Duplin Counties or subject matter experts with full background checks. Sessions are always conducted with a minimum of two adults present at all times.
Start before your child gets too far behind. Early intervention helps prevent ‘retention’ letters.
2020 Updated Safety Protocol
Fall Term tutoring starts on
September 16th, 2024.
**This protocol is suspended at this time in accordance with CDC and state guidelines. Please see our COVID Safety Protocol Page for current requirements.

Now is the time to sign-up and complete your child's application.
Applications are for information for us for safety for your child and to justify the grants we receive that help pay for the program.

Due to Covid-19, we have changed operational procedures in order to protect the students, their families, and our tutoring staff. When you arrive for a tutoring session, please follow the protocol. See the full instruction on the T2T COVID-19 Page.
Non-compliance with these policies after the first request/warning will result in immediate disenrollment from T2T. Reinstatement will be reviewed and determined on a case basis after an interview with the T2T Program Director and RCACC Executive Director.
Basic Standards
Students must participate, be respectful, and bring books, graded homework and tests, and other school assignments as requested. Parents are asked to promptly share updated data and documents, tell us their concerns, and assist in setting goals.

Parents/Guardians must commit to ensuring their student’s attendance and are responsible for being on time. For known conflicts such as doctor’s appointments or trips, parents should notify and coordinate with tutors well in advance for a make-up session. Late arrivals will receive tutoring during the remaining part of the scheduled hour if the student arrives within the first 30 minutes. Parents must pick-up their students on time at the end of the session as no childcare is available.
Because there is a waiting list and funding is limited,
(1) there is a two (2) missed/no-show policy resulting in an unexcused absence, and
(2) there is a limit to excused absences of four (4) during the fall term and five (5) during the spring term.
Complete guidelines and information about possible case-by-case waivers for either of these policies are provided with student intake processing.
